Fox Halo 96K Power Pack Review | Reliable Power for Long Carp Fishing Sessions

Fox Halo 96K Power Pack – portable fishing power bank with built-in bivvy light and dual USB ports, ideal for long carp fishing sessions.
The Fox Halo 96K Power Pack delivers serious power for long sessions. Perfect for heated sleeping bags, bivvy lights, and charging all your fishing gear — rugged, dependable, and built for the bank.

When it comes to long sessions on the bank, few things are as important as reliable power. The Fox Halo 96K Power Pack has been part of my long-haul fishing setup for a while now, and after taking it all the way to the Netherlands for a week of carp fishing, I can confidently say it’s earned its place among my essentials.

Real-World Use

During my week abroad, this power pack proved its worth over and over again. It powered my heated sleeping bag through cold nights, kept my phone and bivvy lights charged, and even topped up my headlamp — all without breaking a sweat.
The built-in bivvy light on the side also came in handy more than once, giving me quick illumination when setting up or checking rods at night. It’s a thoughtful touch for anglers who value practicality and space-saving gear.

Performance & Features

The Fox Halo 96K Power Pack offers an impressive 307.2Wh capacity (26Ah @12V / 96000mAh @3.2V), providing plenty of juice for extended trips. It features dual USB outputs, a USB-C port, and two 12V cigarette-style sockets — perfect for charging everything from bite alarms to laptops.

What sets it apart from cheaper alternatives is the LiFePo4 battery technology, which is more stable and reliable in colder weather compared to Li-Polymer batteries. I’ve used it in frosty conditions, and it performed consistently every night.

The unit also includes:

  • Amber and white LED bivvy light
  • Four LED indicators showing battery levels (each light equals 25%)
  • Moulded feet so it can sit upright on a bivvy table
  • DC input (12–24V/2A max) for recharging

What Could Be Better

There’s no denying that this power pack is a bit bulky, weighing in at 3kg. It’s not something you’ll want to carry far between swims. I also found myself wishing for more USB-C ports, as modern devices rely on that connection more and more.
Charging takes a while too — I usually leave it plugged in all day to ensure it’s ready for the next session.

Pros

  • Excellent build quality
  • Strong, stable power output
  • Built-in light with amber/white options
  • Great cold-weather performance
  • Multiple output options

Cons

  • Quite heavy and a little bulky
  • Only one USB-C port
  • Long recharge time

Final Verdict

The Fox Halo 96K Power Pack is one of those pieces of gear that simply does its job without fuss. It’s dependable, powerful, and built for real-world angling conditions. For anyone who spends long nights or weekends on the bank, especially abroad, this is an investment that will serve you for years.
